Results from 96 Federate runs, with Nearest, Quarter and Half separations between communications partners
Remarks
- The Red ("Next") results have all communications through primary routers (aka, leaf routers). The ratio is consistent with one. This is good.
- The timing results for the Mesh are not altered much by source/destination separation. There is (nearly) a universal curve describing times independent of the separation. This, too, is goood.
- Tree results deteriorate considerably as source-destination separation increases, leading to the significant performance enhancements seen in the ratio plot.
- All differences go away for suitably large messages. For really big messages, the (hardware) bandwidth is the dominant factor.
